Rutgers has announced that Dylan Lonergan will be their starting quarterback for the upcoming season. Lonergan, who previously played at Boston College and Alabama, will make his debut against UMass on September 3. He beat out AJ Surace for the position. The Spartans should be familiar with Lonergan, as he played against them in Spartan Stadium last season, throwing for 390 yards and four touchdowns in a close game.
