Rutgers sweeps men and women's races at the Lehigh Invitational

Rutgers opened its 2026 cross country season Friday with team victories in both the men’s and women’s races at the Lehigh Invitational. The men’s team finished with 35 points to edge Saint Joseph’s, which scored 36 points on the Goodman Campus course. Gavin Rossi took first place individually in the men’s 6,000-meter race, followed closely by teammate Micah Lawson. Lorena David led the Rutgers women’s squad to a win, finishing first overall in her race. The women’s team totaled 26 points compared to 68 for Saint Joseph’s. Freshmen runners played a notable role in the team's depth, with four first-year athletes appearing among the top seven finishers for their respective squads.
