Ruto finishes sixth in steeplechase at NCAA Outdoor Championships

At the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Oregon, Joash Ruto of Iowa State finished sixth in the 3,000m steeplechase with a time of 8:25.14, improving from his semifinal mark of 8:25.58. This performance earned him First Team All-America honors and marked his fourth career All-America designation. Teammate Robin Kwemoi Bera also performed well, finishing 10th in the 5,000m final and earning Second Team All-America honors. Bera now holds six career All-America honors, while freshman Jailan Sohna secured Honorable Mention status in the 800m semifinals. As a team, Iowa State's men finished in 51st place with three points.
