Ryan Burton has been appointed as a development coach for Greater Western Sydney. The former Port Adelaide and Hawthorn defender, who played in the VFL for Southport in 2026, will help mentor young players as they prepare for the upcoming pre-season. Burton was drafted by the Hawks in 2015 and has since transitioned to coaching, joining a reshaped Giants coaching panel. He follows Adam Read, who has joined the team as an assistant coach, after extensive experience at Fremantle.
