Ryan Day discusses son's commitment to Northwestern at Big Ten Media Days

Ohio State football coach Ryan Day reflected on his son RJ's commitment to Northwestern during Big Ten Media Days on July 29. RJ, the starting quarterback at St. Francis DeSales since 2023, verbally committed to Northwestern in May. Day expressed pride and happiness for his son's college decision while also acknowledging the bittersweet feeling of his last summer at home before enrolling at Northwestern in January. RJ is set to be coached by Chip Kelly, who is familiar to Ryan from his time at Ohio State. The Buckeyes’ schedule includes a matchup with Northwestern in 2027 when RJ will be a freshman.
