Ryan Garcia faces Conor Benn on Mexican Independence Day weekend

Ryan Garcia prepares to face Conor Benn this Saturday in a bout scheduled for Mexican Independence Day weekend. The fight offers Garcia an opportunity to secure consecutive wins for the first time since 2022 following his victory over Mario Barrios in April. Garcia seeks to re-establish his standing in the sport after a period marked by a lengthy WBC expulsion and a failed drug test from his previous win against Devin Haney. Operating at 147 pounds, Garcia expressed interest in remaining in this weight class to pursue a potential rematch against Haney in the future. Benn enters the contest having publicly questioned Garcia's Mexican roots, adding tension to the upcoming encounter in Las Vegas. The match serves as a focal point for Garcia's ongoing return to the top of the division.
