Ryan Garcia prepares to defend WBC welterweight title against Conor Benn

Summary

Ryan Garcia enters his first WBC welterweight title defense this Saturday at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The 28-year-old California native faces U.K. challenger Conor Benn in the headline bout scheduled for Mexican Independence Day Weekend. Garcia enters the matchup following a February victory over Mario Barrios, which marked his first world title win. The boxer stated he is currently in the best physical condition of his career following a period of personal instability in 2025. This title fight occurs as Garcia looks to build on his recent tactical improvements, including expanded use of his right hand. The event will be broadcast via Paramount+ beginning at 8 p.m. ET.
