Ryan Garcia stops Conor Benn in second round of welterweight title fight

Ryan Garcia defeated Conor Benn in a second-round stoppage during their WBC welterweight title bout in Las Vegas on Saturday. Benn, fighting for a world title for the first time, began the match aggressively before sustaining a knockdown from a right hook by Garcia. Although Benn beat the referee’s count, the official stopped the contest shortly thereafter. This result marks the first stoppage loss of Benn's professional career. Chris Eubank Jr, who maintains a long-standing rivalry with Benn, commented on the outcome by referencing Benn’s weight cut for the bout. The loss could lead to a future trilogy fight between Benn and Eubank Jr, as observers speculate on the possibility of a return to higher weight classes for Benn.
