Ryan Giggs recounts how Manchester United passed on Kylian Mbappe

Ryan Giggs disclosed that Manchester United declined the opportunity to pursue Kylian Mbappe in 2015. While serving on the coaching staff at Old Trafford, Giggs received a tip from a fan in France regarding the then-Monaco teenager. Giggs and fellow assistant coach Albert Stuivenberg watched youth matches and were impressed by the player. They subsequently requested a scouting team to evaluate Mbappe during a game against Paris Saint-Germain. However, the scouting staff did not provide a favorable recommendation following that observation, leading the club to end its interest. Mbappe later helped Monaco win the Ligue 1 title in 2017 before transferring to Paris Saint-Germain and eventually Real Madrid.
