Ryan Lasko undergoes spinal surgery after collision, remains stable

Athletics prospect Ryan Lasko suffered a serious injury during a game on June 30 after colliding with teammate Devin Taylor. The outfielder was immediately taken to Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano and underwent spinal decompression and stabilization surgery due to a fracture in his C6-C7 vertebra. Athletics manager Mark Kotsay reported that Lasko has not regained feeling in his lower body but remains stable.
