Ryanna Harris and Tristan Savage earn Ventura Orthopedics athlete honors

Oxnard High senior Ryanna Harris and Ventura High junior Tristan Savage were named the Ventura Orthopedics Athletes of the Week. Harris, a flag football player, recorded 11 touchdowns over two games last week. She broke a school record with seven touchdowns against Buena and added four more in a victory over Channel Islands. Meanwhile, Savage helped Ventura football maintain a 2-0 record by accumulating 224 total yards and three touchdowns in a 26-24 win against Lakewood. Savage rushed 20 times for 127 yards and two scores while contributing seven receptions for 97 yards and one touchdown. The Star sports staff selected both athletes for these honors following their respective performances. Oxnard is scheduled to open Channel League play at home against San Marcos this Wednesday, and Ventura will travel to face Camarillo this Friday.
