Rybakina rallies to defeat Osaka at Canadian Open quarter-finals

Elena Rybakina came back from a set and a break down to defeat Naomi Osaka in the quarter-finals of the Canadian Open on August 12. After dropping the first set 4-6 and trailing 2-4 in the second, Rybakina won the next five games, claiming the second set in a tie-break and finishing the match 4-6, 7-6 (7-5), 6-4. Osaka struggled with fatigue, announcing her withdrawal from the upcoming Cincinnati Open after the match. Rybakina will now face Coco Gauff in the semi-finals, while Iga Swiatek and Elina Svitolina will compete in the other semi-final.
