Rylan Hanson commits to Wisconsin men's hockey for 2028-29 season

The Wisconsin Badgers have secured a commitment from Rylan Hanson, a 2009-born defenseman, for the 2028-29 academic year. Hanson, who stands 6-foot-2 and weighs 194 pounds, has played the last two seasons at Elk River/Zimmerman High School in Minnesota. During the 2025-26 season, he recorded five goals and 27 assists in 28 games. He also represented the U.S. at the 2026 Hlinka-Gretzky Cup, gaining national attention as a promising prospect for the 2027 NHL Entry Draft. Hanson's commitment adds depth to Wisconsin's future recruiting class.
