Ryquan Butler decommits from the Alabama Crimson Tide recruiting class

Three-star linebacker Ryquan Butler announced his decision to decommit from the Alabama Crimson Tide on Sunday. Butler, a native of Loachapoka, Alabama, originally pledged to the program on July 7. He is currently ranked as the No. 521 overall prospect and the No. 34 linebacker in the 247Sports composite rankings. Despite his departure, Alabama maintains the top-ranked 2028 recruiting class in the nation, which includes six commitments. Butler has recorded 27 tackles and four offensive touchdowns through the first two games of his junior season at Loachapoka High School. He previously considered the FSU Seminoles, Ole Miss Rebels, and Auburn Tigers before his initial commitment to Alabama.
