Sacramento Kings sign Ben Simmons to a one-year non-guaranteed contract

The Sacramento Kings have signed three-time All-Star guard Ben Simmons to a one-year, non-guaranteed contract. The deal is valued at up to $3.5 million, with $1 million guaranteed if Simmons makes the opening night roster. Sacramento secured the former No. 1 overall pick after competing against interest from the New York Knicks and Golden State Warriors. Simmons returns to the NBA after sitting out the 2025-26 season following a stint with the Los Angeles Clippers. The move aims to integrate the 30-year-old into the Kings' second unit as he attempts a return to professional play. Simmons previously played for the Philadelphia 76ers, Brooklyn Nets, and Los Angeles Clippers during his ten-year career.
