Saints add two offensive and defensive linemen off NFL waivers

The New Orleans Saints added two players to their roster following the NFL deadline for cutting rosters to 53 players. The team claimed offensive tackle Mason Murphy from the Chicago Bears and defensive lineman Colby Wooden from the Indianapolis Colts. Because the Saints roster reached capacity, the organization must clear two spots to accommodate the new arrivals by either cutting players or placing them on injured reserve. Murphy, an undrafted rookie out of Auburn, spent his collegiate career alongside Saints draft pick Jeremiah Wright. Wooden is a veteran interior defender who previously played for the Green Bay Packers. The Saints are currently evaluating their roster to finalize the squad ahead of the upcoming Week 1 schedule.
