Saints likely to start 2026 season opener without key players

Summary

The New Orleans Saints are expected to be without rookie receiver Jordyn Tyson and All-Pro running back Alvin Kamara for their Week 1 matchup against the Detroit Lions. Tyson is facing a two-month recovery from a hamstring injury sustained during training camp. Kamara has a sprained MCL and will be sidelined for at least a month. This setback comes as the Saints look to improve after finishing 28th in points scored last season. They have signed Travis Etienne to lead the backfield, while Chris Olave and Devaughn Vele remain available at wide receiver.
