Saints plan to keep Spencer Rattler amid trade interest

The New Orleans Saints waived quarterback Hunter Dekkers on August 29, leaving Spencer Rattler and Zach Wilson behind Tyler Shough. Despite trade interest in Rattler, the Saints intend to retain him, according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN. Rattler, a fifth-round pick in 2024, started the first eight games last season, where the Saints finished 1-7. After those games, Shough took over as the starter. In three preseason games this year, Rattler completed 30 of 44 passes for 262 yards and one interception, and he rushed for a touchdown.
