Salvador Perez steals first base since 2021 during Royals game

On August 23, Salvador Perez recorded his first stolen base in five years during a Royals game against the Tigers. The 36-year-old catcher and designated hitter took advantage of Detroit’s defense, diving headfirst into second base without a throw. His aggressive base-running later allowed him to score on a single by Kyle Isbel. Perez had only achieved six stolen bases in his previous 15 seasons. The Royals are currently engaged in their contest against the Tigers.
