Sam Laidlow sets world best time in Challenge Roth triathlon

Sam Laidlow of France set a world best time at Germany's Challenge Roth on Sunday, completing the long-distance event in 7 hours 21:04 minutes. This marks his second consecutive victory at Roth and an improvement over the previous long-distance mark of 7:21:24 set by Kristian Blummenfelt at Ironman Texas. Blummenfelt, making his Roth debut, finished second, trailing Laidlow by 5:20 minutes. Rico Bogen secured third place in his first long-distance triathlon with a time of 7:27:53, making history as the fastest debut in the discipline. Different course formats prevent the use of the term world record for this achievement.
