Sam LaPorta opens season with five receptions for Lions

Detroit Lions tight end Sam LaPorta began the 2026 NFL season with five receptions on eight targets, gaining 48 yards in Week 1 against the New Orleans Saints. LaPorta was a standout player in his rookie season in 2023 and continued to perform well in 2024. After missing significant time due to injuries in the previous two years, he aims to regain his pre-injury form this season. LaPorta's performance is essential for fantasy managers who invested in him, as it could signal a rebound.
