Oregon linebacker commit Sam Ngata announced on June 17 that he has officially shut down his recruitment, reaffirming his commitment to the Ducks. Ngata, who has been committed since January, chose Oregon over other programs including Cal and BYU. The 6-foot-5 player from Olympus High School recorded 66 tackles, one sack, and one interception as a junior. His father, Haloti Ngata, is a former Duck and NFL Pro Bowler. Oregon continues to strengthen its 2027 recruiting class, which is currently tracking for a top-five finish nationally.
