Sam Verrills will depart the Gold Coast Titans at the end of the 2026 season. The dummy half, who has played 117 NRL games during his career, was one of five players confirmed to be leaving the club. Following the expiration of his contract, Verrills is now reportedly in discussions with the St Helens Saints regarding a potential move to the Super League. Other Super League clubs have also expressed interest in the player, though they remain unnamed. Verrills previously held discussions with the Canterbury Bulldogs earlier this year, but those negotiations ended without an agreement. The St Helens Saints are currently managing their overseas player quota while also pursuing Bulldogs half Sean O'Sullivan.
