"WWE’s decision to have CM Punk end Sami Zayn’s WWE title reign in just nine days has been a hot topic in the pro wrestling discourse this week. I’ve seen plenty of pro-Zayn fans cope with the loss by fantasy booking scenarios where Kevin Owens makes his surprise return to WWE to help Sami win back the title ASAP. The first thought that crossed my mind upon seeing this kind of reaction is, what makes you think WWE has any plans for Sami to ever win the belt again? Former WWE star Maven agrees that Sami will probably never win back the WWE championship. In his latest YouTube video, Maven offers his take on whether or not WWE hurt Sami’s legacy by taking the title away from him so quickly: “Did the WWE hurt Sami Zayn’s legacy by having such a short title run? The fact of the matter is no, and somehow yes. People will always remember the nine day title run. And why do I say the nine day title run? Because I doubt there will be a second title run. I’m pretty sure they did Sami Zayn a solid. They paid tribute to a guy who, although you can’t deserve it, he has indeed earned it. And I’m happy for the man. So I’ll refrain from feeling sorry for Sami Zayn, and just be happy that Sami Zayn was the man for the spot they needed.” Do you think Sami Zayn will ever have a second WWE championship reign, or will he always go down as the guy who only lasted nine days with the belt? Let me know in the comments below, Cagesiders.
