Samson Johnson signs with Portland Trail Blazers after G League success

Samson Johnson, a former UConn men's basketball player, has signed with the Portland Trail Blazers. The announcement was made by his RBA Showcase agency on social media, with confirmation from Johnson via his Instagram. Portland acquired Johnson's rights from the Noblesville Boom in exchange for player Andrew Carr, Jamiya Neal, and a second-round pick. Johnson previously had a strong season in the G League, boasting a 70.3 field-goal percentage, and averaging 4.5 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game. After a college career at UConn, he was undrafted in 2025, briefly signed with the Indiana Pacers, and later joined Noblesville, where he excelled as a scorer.
