San Francisco 49ers assign Brandon Aiyuk's jersey number to Demarcus Robinson

The San Francisco 49ers have assigned jersey number 11 to Demarcus Robinson for the upcoming season, further separating the team from wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk. Aiyuk currently remains on the Reserve/Left Squad list, a designation that excludes him from the active roster and denies him pay. General manager John Lynch stated that Aiyuk is not considered part of the team's current roster. Aiyuk has expressed a refusal to seek reinstatement or conduct business with the organization. The player has not appeared in a game since the 2024 season, which was shortened for him by a torn ACL. Because of his placement on the reserve list, Aiyuk is not eligible for a scheduled $24.935 million option bonus.
