The San Francisco 49ers released cornerback Eli Apple on August 30 during their final roster reduction before the 2026 season. The team cut 14 veterans and waived 19 additional players to reach their initial roster limit. Apple had returned to the 49ers on a one-year contract on August 12, less than two weeks after the organization initially waived him on August 2.
