San Francisco 49ers wide receiver De’Zhaun Stribling has announced he will wear jersey number 7 for the 2026 season. The rookie previously wore number 15 throughout training camp after being selected with the 33rd pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. The choice of number 7 has drawn immediate attention from fans due to the recent arrest of Dejaun Love, a man who falsely claimed to be a San Francisco 49ers player while wearing that same number. Federal prosecutors allege that Love defrauded 27 victims out of approximately $1.3 million by masquerading as an NFL professional since February 2022. Stribling, a 23-year-old drafted in the second round, now shares a numerical link to the impersonator that has generated significant social media discourse.
