San Francisco 49ers sign Khalid Kareem from Atlanta Falcons practice squad

The San Francisco 49ers added edge rusher Khalid Kareem to their roster on Friday after signing him from the Atlanta Falcons practice squad. Kareem moves to San Francisco on a one-year deal, reuniting with defensive coordinator Raheem Morris, who coached him during their shared tenure in Atlanta. To make room for the addition, the 49ers placed defensive lineman Sam Okuayinonu on the Injured Reserve List. Kareem had originally joined the Atlanta practice squad on Tuesday following the NFL roster deadline. His departure from the Atlanta organization allowed the team to bring back Bralen Trice, a 2024 draft selection who had been released earlier in the week. The Falcons continue to adjust their defensive front as they solidify their 16-man practice squad following recent roster cuts.
