San Francisco Firebells to debut against Boston Hunters this weekend

The San Francisco Firebells will open their inaugural season this Sunday against the Boston Hunters. Left-hander Niki Eckert is set to start for the Firebells, while right-hander Maïka Dumais will take the mound for Boston. All games for the season are taking place at Robin Roberts Stadium in Springfield, Illinois, which is considered neutral for East Coast teams. This game follows the opening match of the Women’s Professional Baseball League, featuring the Los Angeles Queens versus New York Heights, set to take place before the Firebells' debut. Updates on streaming options are expected soon from the league's website as discussions with ESPN continue.
