San Francisco Giants claim pitcher Joel Kuhnel from Milwaukee Brewers

The San Francisco Giants claimed right-handed pitcher Joel Kuhnel off waivers from the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday. Kuhnel, 31, has made 35 relief appearances this season, recording a 4.84 ERA with 22 strikeouts and a 1.47 WHIP. He last pitched for Milwaukee on July 2 before a stint on the 15-day injured list with right rotator cuff tendinopathy. After completing a minor league rehabilitation assignment with Triple-A Nashville, the Brewers designated him for assignment on September 2.
