Sandy Alcantara delivered a quality start for the Miami Marlins against the Washington Nationals on June 1, 2026, pitching seven innings and allowing three earned runs. This outing followed a troubling May where Alcantara had posted a 7.39 ERA and faced significant challenges, including yielding six or more earned runs in three starts. His performance helped the Marlins secure a 7-3 win, ending a five-game losing streak, and enhanced his trade viability as the MLB deadline approaches. General manager Gabe Kapler hopes Alcantara can maintain this momentum moving forward.
