Sartell defeats Tech 3-1 in high school soccer rematch

Sartell secured a 3-1 victory over Tech on September 8 in a rematch of last year's Section 8 championship. After a scoreless first half, the game remained deadlocked until early in the second half when Alex Pooler and Cole Davidson scored back-to-back goals within two minutes. Bode Wannebo later narrowed the gap for Tech with a corner kick goal, but freshman forward Nolan Guzman added a late goal to finalize the score for the Sabres. Sartell dominated possession and registered nearly 15 shots on goal during the match, doubling the output of their opponents. Defensive play from Owen Woodruff, Brady Anderson, and Bennett Moe helped preserve the lead throughout the second half. Both teams are scheduled to return to play on September 10, with Sartell hosting Moorhead and Tech traveling to face Detroit Lakes.
