Sauce Gardner sues construction firm amid Detroit renovation plans

Ahmad "Sauce" Gardner is involved in legal disputes with Sanborn Construction Group over a planned renovation of the Bonita apartments in Detroit. Gardner alleges breach of contract and fraud, having wired $500,000 with expectations of progress that he claims were unmet. Sanborn Construction has countersued, asserting Gardner misled them and desired different contractors for the project. Both lawsuits were filed in Wayne County Circuit Court on August 10 and August 10. Gardner purchased the property for $935,000 in May and aims to contribute to Detroit's housing efforts; he estimates the renovation will cost about $2.5 million.
