Schroeder and Cox chase match play berth in U.S. Women's Amateur

Kaitlyn Schroeder and Nancy Cox, both from the First Coast, are contending for a match play spot in the U.S. Women's Amateur at The Honors Course in Ooltewah, Tennessee. After shooting 3-over 75 in the first stroke play round, they are tied for 65th place. The tournament continues with the second round on August 5, where the top 64 players will advance to match play. Schroeder recorded two birdies along with three bogeys, while Cox had a mixed round with bogeys on two late holes. Another competitor, Aphrodite Deng, is tied for ninth after finishing at 1-under 71.
