Scott Davidson and Brad Friedel move toward Shrewsbury Town takeover

An American investment group led by Scott Davidson is in the process of acquiring Shrewsbury Town. The English Football League and the Independent Football Regulator have cleared Davidson to proceed with the purchase after he passed the owners' and directors' test. Former United States international goalkeeper Brad Friedel is supporting the transition and is expected to join the club's board alongside Davidson. The deal would end the three-decade tenure of chairman Roland Wycherley at the League Two side. Negotiations are ongoing between the parties, with completion anticipated in the coming weeks. Davidson currently holds a majority stake in Scottish club The Spartans.
