Scott Harris defends Tigers' trade of Tarik Skubal to Dodgers

Scott Harris, president of baseball operations for the Detroit Tigers, rejected criticisms regarding the team's trade of pitcher Tarik Skubal to the Los Angeles Dodgers. In a recent statement, he emphasized that the Tigers received multiple competitive offers, including one from the Dodgers involving Zyhir Hope, River Ryan, and Brady Smith. Harris described the decision as difficult, indicating some division within the organization about moving a two-time Cy Young winner. He also dismissed claims that there was no bidding war, arguing instead that the team maximized its return by negotiating with multiple clubs. The trade has raised questions among fans about whether Detroit achieved a satisfactory deal given Skubal's stature and the team's playoff aspirations.
