York City has appointed Scott Lindsey as its new head coach ahead of the 2026/27 season. Lindsey replaces Stuart Maynard, who was dismissed after leading the team to victory in the National League. Last season, Lindsey managed Crawley Town but was let go following a 10-match winless streak. His first match in charge will be against Crawley in the Carabao Cup next Monday, followed by a League Two fixture against Bristol Rovers.
