Scottie Scheffler finishes second at 3M Open, extends PGA Tour earnings lead

Scottie Scheffler secured his fifth second-place finish at the PGA Tour during the 3M Open on July 26. Despite a solid performance by rookie Jackson Koivun, who won his first title, Scheffler earned $959,000, increasing his season earnings to nearly $17 million. With his closest competitors not participating, Scheffler's lead over Cameron Young reached nearly $3 million and expanded to more than $6 million over Matt Fitzpatrick. Young will compete in upcoming tournaments where he could challenge Scheffler's position. The PGA Tour money race will conclude following the first two FedEx Cup playoff events, not including the Tour Championship, which offers a separate payout for the winner.
