Seahawks release cornerback Trevon Diggs following final roster cuts

The Seattle Seahawks released veteran cornerback Trevon Diggs ahead of the league's deadline to finalize a 53-man roster for the upcoming season. The transaction occurs less than 48 hours after head coach Mike Macdonald publicly praised the defensive back's progress and recent interception during a preseason game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Seattle is currently managing changes to its secondary, including the addition of Terrion Arnold, who is expected to start the season on the commissioner’s exempt list. Despite the release, the team intends to offer Trevon Diggs a position on the practice squad. As an unrestricted free agent, the veteran remains eligible to sign with any other organization. Trevon Diggs previously played under a five-year, $97 million contract before his departure from the Dallas Cowboys in December 2025.
