Seahawks release cornerback Trevon Diggs with plan for practice squad

The Seattle Seahawks released cornerback Trevon Diggs during final roster cuts on August 30, 2026. General manager John Schneider confirmed that the team intends to sign the veteran to the practice squad once the waiver wire period expires on August 31. Diggs joined the Seattle organization less than two weeks prior to the roster deadline and did not participate in a full training camp. Having not worn full pads since January, the former Dallas Cowboys player appeared in only one preseason game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Because Diggs is a vested veteran, he bypassed the waiver process and became an unrestricted free agent. The club plans to use the practice squad to help him acclimate to the roster during the opening stages of the regular season.
