Seahawks rule out Sam Darnold for remainder of game against Patriots

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold will not return to the field during the game against the New England Patriots after suffering a right hip injury. The injury occurred on the fifth play of the season during the opening drive following a sack by Patriots outside linebacker Dre'Mont Jones. Darnold completed one of two pass attempts for 13 yards before exiting the contest and heading to the X-ray room for examination. Drew Lock replaced Darnold at quarterback for the Seahawks. Through the first half, the Patriots maintain a 7-0 lead over the Seahawks. Seattle enters halftime with 120 total yards of offense while looking to recover from the loss of their starting signal-caller.
