Seahawks waive rookie cornerback Michael Dansby before roster deadline

The Seattle Seahawks released cornerback Michael Dansby on August 30, 2026. Selected in the seventh round of the 2026 NFL Draft with the 255th overall pick, the Arizona product appeared in preseason action for the team. Dansby recorded four tackles during the preseason schedule, including two in the final game against the Kansas City Chiefs. He is the second player from the team's most recent draft class to be waived, following receiver Emmanuel Henderson Jr. Dansby is a potential candidate for the team's practice squad, though he must clear waivers by the deadline at 10 a.m. PT on Monday. The move follows Seattle’s recent acquisition of rookie cornerback Avery Smith via trade to bolster secondary depth.
