Seahawks waive Trevon Diggs then add him to the practice squad

The Seattle Seahawks released cornerback Trevon Diggs on August 30 as part of the team's reduction to a 53-man roster. Despite the move, the franchise intends to sign the veteran to its practice squad to continue his development. General manager John Schneider noted that the defensive back joined the team late in the summer and needs more time to acclimate to the system. Diggs participated in the final preseason game against the Kansas City Chiefs, where he recorded one tackle and an interception. The team currently values the depth at the cornerback position as they work toward integrating new arrivals into the defensive scheme.
