Sean McVay rejects travel excuses after Rams fall to 49ers

Summary

Sean McVay took full responsibility for the Los Angeles Rams after a 27-7 loss to the 49ers. The coach declined to attribute the team's performance to a condensed travel schedule that saw the club arrive in Melbourne only 24 hours before kickoff. The defeat marked the lowest offensive point total for the Rams in any game started by quarterback Matthew Stafford. Additionally, the team suffered multiple injuries, with Kam Curl, Davis Allen, and Nate Landman all departing the contest. The outcome served as a contrast to preseason expectations for the team, which entered the year with high championship aspirations. McVay indicated that the team simply failed to perform up to its required standard during the loss.
