Canterbury Bulldogs halfback Sean O’Sullivan will join St Helens on a one-year deal for the 2027 season. The move follows a season in which O’Sullivan struggled for consistent first-grade opportunities under coach Cameron Ciraldo, despite the Bulldogs missing the finals. While the club utilized various combinations of Stephen Crichton, Matt Burton, and Lachlan Galvin in the halves, O’Sullivan made only six NRL appearances this year. The parties have opted not to take up the mutual option in his current contract with the Bulldogs. The 28-year-old previously played for the Sydney Roosters, New Zealand Warriors, Penrith Panthers, and Dolphins. His arrival at the English Super League club is expected to coincide with the departure of Jackson Hastings, who remains uncontracted beyond 2026.
