Seattle Seahawks beat New England Patriots in 2026 NFL season opener

The Seattle Seahawks defeated the New England Patriots 13-10 on Wednesday night to open the 2026-27 NFL regular season. New England held a 10-0 lead through most of the third quarter before the Seattle defense restricted the Patriots and forced three interceptions of quarterback Drake Maye. Seahawks backup quarterback Drew Lock took over for starter Sam Darnold after the first drive of the game. Former North Carolina standouts Drake Maye and Mack Hollins played for New England, while Chazz Surratt contributed to the Seattle defensive effort. The Seahawks held the Patriots scoreless in the final quarter to secure the win.
