Seattle Seahawks sign key players while Kenneth Walker III joins Kansas City Chiefs

The Seattle Seahawks moved on from running back Kenneth Walker III during the offseason following his Super Bowl MVP performance. Walker, who logged a career-high 1,309 yards from scrimmage last season, signed a three-year, $43 million contract with the Kansas City Chiefs that includes $28.7 million guaranteed. The Seahawks opted not to match the offer due to significant salary cap commitments made to other roster core members. Over the past year, the team has awarded more than $600 million in contract value to players including Leonard Williams, Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Devon Witherspoon. To address the backfield, Seattle selected Jadarian Price in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft. Price is expected to provide a lower-cost option at the position as the team manages its current financial structure.
