The injury occurred during a FIBA World Cup match between Australia and Italy on Wednesday, as Magbegor landed awkwardly while driving to the rim. Medical confirmation of the tear arrived shortly before Australia’s quarterfinal game against Spain in Berlin, Germany. Magbegor, a four-time All-Defense selection, had been limited to 14 games this season due to prior injuries. She averaged 12.3 points and 5.3 rebounds over four appearances during the World Cup tournament. Her status for the 2027 season remains uncertain as she begins recovery from the injury.
