U.S. men’s national team midfielder Sebastian Berhalter is nearing a transfer to Middlesbrough from the Vancouver Whitecaps. Middlesbrough is reportedly set to pay a $2 million transfer fee as Berhalter, 25, moves after making 120 appearances and scoring 14 goals for Vancouver since 2022. He played in all five matches for the USMNT at the 2026 World Cup and will join former teammate Aidan Morris at Middlesbrough. Berlin's contract was due to expire following the 2026 MLS season.
